B. Michelle Horton

“Believe what God says and be healed!”

Rev. Horton worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for 27 years before retiring to answer the call to ministry. She’s also done some entrepreneurship, and has been involved with Friends Select and Moorestown Friends School. She’s completed certificate and diploma courses at Palmer Theological Seminary, The Clergy Development Institute, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Missio Seminary.

Licensed by Rev. Dr. Wayne E. Croft Sr. (2007), Rev. Horton has served in different ministerial and administrative roles at churches throughout the Tri-State area. Right now, she’s the founder and Pastor of A Sacred Space Ministry and an Associate Pastor at Salt and Light Church, where Rev. Cean James is the senior pastor.
She’s a mentor, conference and retreat speaker, organizer, and has ministered both domestically and internationally. She works with Women on the Wall Ministry and is on the advisory team of Fellowship of Women Clergy led by Rev. Dr. Kimberlee Johnson. Rev. Horton was even honored as the first Artist-In-Residence for the Fellowship of Women Clergy. She teaches at Redeemer Institute for Christian Education, has been a co-facilitator at Interfaith Philadelphia for the Visionary Women’s Program, and engages with many on civic, justice, and human rights issues.

Rev. Horton spreads the gospel of Christ through preaching, teaching, creative dance, spoken word, stage performance, and writing. She’s a self-published author of four books, co-author of several anthologies and chat books, a freelance writer for several online magazines and newsletters, a playwright, actor, Mistress of Ceremony, and former radio host of her show Sacred Moments in various outlets. She got the title of Poet-Teller because she weaves words in a poetic way into stories and sermons. This year, she released two projects – And She Said and Just Me – produced by Tony Mack of Trezure Roxx Studio.

She’s a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and “Mom” to many godchildren. She’s always excited and humbled whenever God calls her to minister. Her life scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

“I write poems, I write songs, short stories…”
